IHS believes that your personal information—including your purchase history, phone number(s), email and residential/business addresses, and credit card data—belongs to you. We collect this type of information to serve you better when you provide it to us.
What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you register on or log into our site or other sites affiliated with IHS, place an order for a product or membership, make a donation, subscribe to our emails, respond to a survey or fill out a form.
When ordering, donating, logging-in, or registering on our sites, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, password, mailing address, phone number or credit card information. You may, however, visit our sites anonymously.
What do we use your information for?
Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:
- To personalize your experience. Your information helps us to better respond to your individual needs.

- To send periodic e-mails. The e-mail address you provide for order processing or log-in may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.
- Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future marketing emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email campaign.
Do we use cookies?
Yes. Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer’s hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information.
We use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart and understand and save your preferences for future visits. Cookies are also particularly helpful for saving registration information and when you access archived webinars.
Do we disclose any information to outside parties?
In the operation of our websites, conducting business, or servicing you, we may need to transfer personally identifiable information to trusted third parties, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our or others’ rights, property, or safety.
However, customer information (not emails) may be provided to other parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Should you desire to opt out of including your postal address in occasional postal mailings from third parties, please contact us at interact@ihsinfo.org with your written request.
Emails and Other Collected Information
Information collected from IHS customers becomes a part of our offline customer database. While we do not rent, sell or give away customer emails to third parties for commercial purposes, we do work with outside entities on industry-wide benchmarking surveys and studies (which IHS members have the distinct privilege of being included) via email. We may also allow third parties to send information to you via postal mail because we think it contains business information in which you would be interested. Should you desire to opt out of including your address in occasional postal mailings from third parties, please contact us at interact@ihsinfo.org with your written request.
