Dr. Doug Lexis, AuD, PhD, JD

Dr. Doug Lewis is President and Owner of Excalibur Business Consultants/Excalibur Entertainment, LLC and Excalibur Hearing and Audiology LLC consulting in a wide range of areas involving healthcare, business, microenterprise development, and law while also maintaining a small law practice on the side. Dr. Lewis is also the President and CEO of both Patriot Health Systems LLC, and WellCare Health Systems LLC which are Integrated Delivery Services Organizations along with being General Counsel and Compliance Officer for several other related organizations and works as a Consulting Clinical Audiologist for several entities and an ENT Practice. He is an active Faculty Member for nine universities teaching in a wide variety of subject matters encompassing such areas as law and ethics, business, healthcare, clinical and administrative practice, science, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, biopsychology, and medicine as well as being an instructor for the International Hearing Society’s ACA program for over 20 years. Dr. Lewis considers himself to be a lifelong adult learner, having earned an AuD degree along with a Ph.D, JD, three Masters Degrees, two Bachelors Degrees, and an Associates Degree. He maintains professional licensure and practices in Law, Clinical Audiology, Insurance, Securities Analysis, and Nursing Home Administration along with earning numerous association certifications and registries. It's not all about work, although he does love to stay busy. In the off-time, He works out extensively and is a musician routinely sitting with area rock, jazz, blues, and reggae bands with his most recent work as founder and performer for his band Paradygm Shyft.

 

Carrie Meyer, AuD

Carrie Meyer, Au.D., is Director of Clinical Programs for Amplifon Hearing Healthcare. Dr. Meyer is an audiologist with over 35 years of clinical experience in diagnostic assessment of hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance dysfunction as well as hearing aid evaluation, fitting, and verification.  In her role as Director of Clinical Programs, Dr. Meyer works with providers, health plans and members to optimize member hearing health outcomes by improving clinical care pathways through provider innovation, member education, and health plan support.    Dr. Meyer is Chair of the American Board of Audiology and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology as well as the Academy of Doctors of Audiology.  Dr. Meyer is a member of the Concordia University St. Paul Board of Regents and chairs the Academic Committee.  

 

Amanda Sines

Amanda has been involved in state government relations in Columbus, Ohio for nearly 20 years. Amanda began her lobbying career working for one of the first female owned independent lobbying firms where she represented a variety of client interests before the state legislature and Ohio regulatory agencies. In 201,5 soon after Ms. Towner’s retirement, Amanda joined Government Advantage Group as a Partner.  Amanda is a Past President of the Ohio Lobbying Association, is a member of the fundraising committee for the Ohio YMCA Youth in Government program and an active member in Ohio Women in Government.

 

Dr. Nashlea Brogan, AuD

Dr. Nashlea Brogan, Au.D., is a TEDx speaker, audiologist, and private practice owner who has lived with progressive hearing loss for over 30 years, using both hearing aids and cochlear implants. As both a clinician and a patient, she brings a unique dual perspective on the emotional, social, and cognitive impact of hearing loss.
A founding member of Excellence in Audiology and owner of Bluewater Hearing & Balance in Ontario for the past 21 years, Dr. Brogan is a recognized leader in hearing healthcare. Her expertise has been featured in national publications, podcasts, and advocacy initiatives.
Her workchallenges outdated perceptions of hearing loss, emphasizing its impact beyond just hearing and its critical role in cognitive and overall well-being.

 

Ken Root, Director of Membership for IHS

Ken Root, Director of Membership for IHS leads all membership initiatives for the Society, including leadership development and recognition programs, committee oversight, and affinity and special membership programs.  He draws from 14 years of non-profit experience working previously as the Director of Membership for the Small Business Association where he created new programs and services to expand on the growing small businesses in the state and identifying new partnership opportunities across the state.  He was recognized as the Michigan Society of Association Executives Emerging Leader in 2014, and his Leadership Council program was recognized as a Silver Award winner in 2015.
